2011 TASTING NOTES
The relatively cool and wetter than average 2011 growing season gave us a wine that is fresh and soft-structured. Roasted espresso, sage, and dusty earth provide a savory context against which vibrant cranberry and juicy pomegranate play on the palate. Even ten years later, the sophisticated restraint and balance that characterized the 2011 vintage is still present.
2012 TASTING NOTES
Bright and expressive, driven by blueberry compote and licorice aromas, this still-youthful example of our famous Rutherford vineyards is a Napa cab lovers dream come true, with bright and cheerful fruit bursting out of the glass, and dusty cocoa and sweet oak spice rounding out the edges.
2013 TASTING NOTES
The 2013 Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon shows a deep and opaque garnet color. On the nose, aromas of briar and blackberry, dark cherry, vanilla, cloves, and leather emerge from the glass. The full-bodied wine envelopes the palate with tannin and flavors of blackberries, cloves, and coffee. The finish is incredibly long. A wine that can be enjoyed now, but will benefit from an additional 5 – 10 years in the cellar.
